Born with the name, John Anthony Gillis on July 9, 1975, he is generally credited as Jack White III. He is best known for being the guitarist and lead singer of the White Stripes, a band he founded with his ex wife, Megan White. Recently, he became a co founder of another band, The Dead Weather. He has been ranked at number 17 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the top 100 guitarists of all time.
