Gray hair is something that we can all hide with a good hair color. A good hair coloring product can hide grey hair or give your gray hair a more dignified look, without the nasty yellow or orange tint that most products leave on the hair. A lot of men like to use American Crew Classic Gray Shampoo since it gives the hair just the right amount of texture and contrast to make gray hair look natural.

Benefits

This shampoo leaves the hair with natural gray shades without the ugly yellow or orange tint that you get with other gray shampoos. It contains hydrolyzed milk proteins that smooth and soften the hair all day. The shampoo is also formulated to add sheen and moisture to the hair.

Other ingredients like Balsam Canada coats the hair with a natural resin for extra gloss and shine, while added conditioning ingredients keeps dryness at bay and maintains moisture.

Pros

The gray shampoo offers the best results for those who do not want the orange and yellow tones on the hair after it has been dyed and redyed with regular black hair dyes.

Gray hair comes out with more contrast, and salt and pepper hair comes out looking more defined, since the formula turns the hair into the clean white and adds more contrast to the remaining black or gray portions. Users also noticed cleaner silver highlights that give aging hair a more dignified look.

The shampoo is also formulated for intensive moisturizing which keeps the hair soft and supple all throughout the day. Most users love how the hair is a natural gray, and how light and clean-smelling it is.

Cons

There are very few complaints regarding this shampoo. One of the most common is that it tends to give hair a dark-bluish tint after several bottles and regular use. This has not happened to all users but it has happened to anyone who has been using the product for years.

A good remedy would be to alternate using the product with a similar product so lessen the risk of blue tones which could be due to the build-up of shampoo residue and color through years of use. Alternating between the product and a similar product will help reduce tolerance and promote better results.

Another complaint is that the hair tends to become dry and wiry after use. There are some users who experienced greater hair breakage after using the product which could be to dry and brittle hair prior to using the product which worsened the condition of the hair.

It is important to note that the use of any hair dye will cause drying of the hair but dyes with extra moisturizing properties can keep severe dryness and breakage at bay.

The American Crew Classic Gray Shampoo is perhaps among the best alternatives for men who want to stop using dyes to keep the hair black. The formula is gentle yet effective in keeping and emphasizing the natural color of silver hair.

  1. When I was 15 years old, I saw my first gray hair. Now I’m 20 and day by day the amount of gray hairs in my head are increasing at an alarming rate. For the last 6 months, I have dyed my gray hair to black and the color washes away after 1 month as I’ve been using demi-permanent gray hair dye. I’m also facing orange tone problem in my dyed hair. As you mentioned above that “American Crew Classic Gray Shampoo” works better in removing orange and yellow tones from colored hair, so it makes me happy to buy one and use it to see if it truly works or not. Also, let’s hope no dark-bluish tint after using this gray hair shampoo
