Generally Sean, with a buzz cut, it's pretty standard to just say "I want a buzz," for most guys.
I usually went with a 2 or 3 all-round buzz with clippers, and gave a sharp edges look by taking off the sideburns entirely and doing a straight cut on the back. It makes it a very clean-cut look that's hard to beat day to day. I also had a naturally good hairline and growth pattern for buzzes, but if you wanted a softer looking buzz like his, keep some sideburns and a tapered cut on the back, so it scales down rather than just abrupt.
In the end, both styles look fantastic if you have the confidence to pull the look and during the summer it feels great to not have a shag on your head.
Hey can Faux Hawk. Could you the sides cut by using a one 1/2. Then just point in the center? Since my hair dosnt seem to grow on the sides long enough to keep it that way.

i think he'd look better with a longer hairstyle. something that make him look less like kermit the frog.
i think buzzcuts only really look good with a beard. it makes the face look more balanced it seems. I find most people with buzzcuts have beards and it looks alot better.
